the groove corporation

the groove corporation first appeared in the public-eye as electribe 101.

with e101, they found success in the pop industry, but soon became disillusioned with the business, finding that it was more about being celebrities than musicians.

the groove corporation were given production credits on e101 records, and when e101 split they chose this moniker to work under. they formed their own label, the cake label, with fellow birmingham down-beats, original rockers.

a few e.p's were released, including the legendary "stoned", and they contributed some tracks to compilations such as the ambient dub volumes on beyond. on the strength of these releases, they secured a deal with network.

no-one had any idea what would happen with the album, the idea was just to make music, on their own and with guests - whoever walked through the door.

the groove-corp wrote music to inspire vocalists, with the intention that the vocalists would come back with lyrics to inspire them.

co-operation shows the results of these collaborations; no real direction, just like-minded people leaving their egos on the coat-hooks and making music.
