Auto delivery of the complete Web site
by info bot
The information content of these pages isn't suited for direct on-line reading.
For this reason the whole site has been designed to be easily transportable
over the Internet as a complete package for off-line reading from a hard
disk (reading off-line with a Web browser application such as Netscape).
Providing all the files are kept in the same folder, all the links will
work in exactly the same way as they would on a regular Web site: retaining
the links between pages and images.
The site can be downloaded on-line from a Web site or be delivered by email.
Auto responder mail bots are available to deliver the complete site to you
as a single compressed file (approximately 350K).
To summon up a delivery, all you have to do is to send out a blank (body)
email with the single word sendSorcery in the
subject line. Send this email to:
peter@genps.demon.co.uk
Your request will be handled automatically by auto responder mail bots and
you will receive the file as a regular email attachment within a few days.
The file will arrive in an Aladdin standard cross platform Stuffit compressed
format so please make sure that you have a suitable Aladdin Stuffit Expander
on your hard disk to open it with.
Experience has shown that the best format to use is the BinHex (hqx) method.
This gives a slightly larger file size than the alternatives but is more
robust for cross platform communications over the Internet.
This format can be received by either Mac or PC machines providing there
is a suitable Stuffit expander at the recipient end.
If you do not have a suitable Aladdin Stuffit expander installed, you can
send a mail bot to Aladdin's auto responder object to get all the necessary
details to download the latest expander (free) to suit your machine.
Mail to Aladdin:
info@aladdinsys.com
with the single word index in the subject line.
You can obtain more details of the Aladdin products from their Web site
at:
http://www.aladdinsys.com (Web page)
(Note: You can reuse the stuffed version of the Web site you receive to
send to friends or colleagues. If you do, make sure you pass on this information
regarding the unstuffing applications).
If you cannot receive an email attachment
If you cannot receive an email attachment with your service provider, just
put the word sorcerySites into the subject
line of a blank email and send it to:
peter@genps.demon.co.uk
The auto responder bot will then email you the URLs of mirror sites where
this Web site can be downloaded on-line.
(Note: If you have a friend or colleague who is not on line you can transfer
the Web site to them using a floppy but remember that they will need to
have a copy of Netscape or some other Web browser to be able to read it).
Auto responder key words
Below is a full list of the key words the info bots respond to. These words
